The Girls

Mandy Milliquet

I live in Southwestern Ontario, in Windsor for the most part, but I am currently at home in Sarnia. I just completed my third year of my undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Windsor. Right now I am studying for the Medical Collage Admissions Test (MCAT) and am registered to write June 18th (the day before training!).

In Windsor I regularly attend Heritage Park Alliance Church. In Sarnia I usually go to Lighthouse Community Church with my family.

I am very passionate about long distance running, rugby, basketball, swimming, and other sports. Some other hobbies I enjoy are cooking, sewing, reading and playing piano.

I dislike plastic bags, and other un-environmentally friendly things.

After completing my degree, my hopes are to attend one of the medical schools in Canada. My ultimate goal is to become a member of the Doctors without Borders organization and practice medicine in under developed countries.

I am super excited to join the camping ministry team. I did not want a regular full-time job this summer; I wanted a job that would allow me to share everything I’ve learned this year, as well as challenge me spiritually. I’m also very excited to explore some other provinces!

Hello! My name is Chantelle Campbell. I am currently living in Strathmore, AB. I recently completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Education at the University of Winnipeg during a practicum year spent teaching and studying in Bangkok, Thailand. Before Thailand, I lived in Winnipeg where I completed my BA in International Development Studies. While living in Winnipeg, I attended Faith Covenant Church, where I made (and still have) many great friends who I was able to grow with and through whom I learned so much about what it means to be part of a community that seeks God. I am not sure of the direction my life will be going this coming year. I really enjoyed teaching overseas, and would love to go again if the right opportunity comes along. For now, I feel that I need to be open to go wherever God may lead me. I am very excited to be a part of the camp ministry team this summer. I love people, I love being outdoors, and I love being at camp! Please pray that God will work through me to bring campers into deeper relationship with Him and a more profound understanding of what it means to live as a disciple of Christ-and pray that my understanding continues to deepen as well.

The Guys

My name is Michael Luedemann, I am eighteen years old and I live in Norquay Saskatchewan. Norquay Covenant Church is my home church and it has been a blessing to grow up in. I am currently attending Providence College and Seminary just outside of Winnipeg in a small town (smaller than Norquay!) called Otterburne.

I am a huge fan of music of all sorts whether it is playing or listening. I am a huge fan of John Mayer and I am not a huge fan of Van Halen. Fishing and hiking are probably two of my favourite outdoor activities along with soccer. The mountains never cease to amaze me and I miss them every day.

I am not quite sure what God has in store for my future. I would like to say fishing in the mountains, but I don’t think that is going to happen. I will be at Providence one more year to work on my Social Work degree. I love working and talking with people and I think that whatever my future holds, it will hopefully work around that.

I am very excited to be a part of this team. I think it will be a great opportunity for the people on the team to not only grow in their faith but to help and facilitate others to grow in their faith as well. I look forward to meeting the people on the team as well as all the other people we will meet this summer!

Name: Rob Horsley
Residence: Winnipeg, MB
Church: Faith Covenant Church, Winnipeg
School/Work: I am about to enter my final year at Providence College in Otterburne, MB, working towards a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Media, with a minor in Philosophy.  I work as a part time security guard for a Winnipeg-based private contract company during the school year.  I am also a volunteer small group leader for my church, in addition to playing regularly on the worship team.
Interests: I enjoy spending time with family and friends.  I like music (listening to and/or playing), and play a number of instruments (guitar, drums, bass, vocals).  I also like relaxing, watching movies, eating good food, reading, laughing, conversations with friends, etc.  I also enjoy bowling and sno-cones.
Dislikes: cutting grass, Axl Rose.
Future Plans/Goals: In my immediate future, I hope to work towards a Masters Degree of some kind after I finish my B.A. at Prov, and one day hope to be involved in church ministry in some way or another.  I also enjoy travel, and hope to do that someday.  In addition, I hope to live to see the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup someday, though that may not be as realistic.  Normal stuff: long life, good health, family, etc.

I'm excited to be a part of this team, as I love being a part of camp ministry in any way I can.  For the past several summers, I have been on staff at Covenant Heights, and one summer at Covenant Bay.  I am excited to put my previous camp experience to practice for an entire summer, and look forward to meeting new people and hopefully encouraging growth in students, as well as my fellow staff members.  As one who looks forward to summer, and camp specifically, I think that this experience will be a lot of fun, in addition to providing new challenges and opportunities as I continue to discover gifts and abilities for ministry.

Name: Jesse Watt
Home: Winnipeg, MB.
Home Church: Faith Covenant. I love it.
School: I am currently finishing grade 12 at Springs Christian Academy in Winnipeg. 13 long years, it feels splendid to be wrapping up.
Interests: I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing with my pops and my dog. I really enjoy playing drums and other percussion type instruments. I love going on canoe trips. A Slurpee and Vinyl Cafe are fantastic on lazy weekends, after watching cartoons in the morning.
Dislikes: Warm chocolate milk, melted Slurpee's, holes in my shoes.
Plans for the future: Well so far my plans include taking a year off school to work and save some money for Bible school. I would like to go to a Capernwray program.
I'm really looking forward to being a part of the camp ministry team. I have counseled at Covenant Heights twice and loved both times. I look forward to making new friends, and becoming closer to the friends I've already made. I am excited to be challenged this summer, and hope to learn a lot about others and myself.
